Press Coverage: Students earn prizes for multi-media presentations on improving social policy
12 January 2021Undergraduate students at York University collaborated with students in Korea to produce multi-media presentations that make recommendations for improving social policies in both Canada and Korea.
Students in Canada's Social Policy (PPAS 3761) taught by Professor Thomas Klassen from the Faculty of Liberal Arts & Professional Studies (LAPS) partnered with students taught by Professor Sophia Lee at Chung-Ang University in Seoul, South Korea.

25 November 2020School of Public Policy and Administration Professor Thomas Klassen from the Faculty of Liberal Arts & Professional Studies (LAPS) worked with Professor Sophia Lee at Chung-Ang University in Seoul, South Korea, to provide undergraduate students in their respective classes with a unique international learning opportunity. Klassen teaches Canada's Social Policy (PPAS 3761) while Lee teaches a course on Social Security in Korea.
New Generation Korean 1
8 April 2020New Generation Korean 1 is designed for Korean language learners at the secondary and post-secondary education levels, and for independent self-study adult learners. It presents learning goals and best practice lessons developed by professors with extensive Korean language experience. With classroom-tested lessons, New Generation Korean 1 will guide students to effective and efficient learning of the Korean language and an appreciation of the Korean culture, while supporting the teaching and learning of Korean in a fun and effective way.

York University is only the second Canadian university to receive the grant, almost ten years after the University of British Columbia. 23 March 2019요크대는『한국을 세계로, 세계를 한국학으로(Korea in the World, the World in Korean Studies)』(연구책임자: 박현옥 교수) 과제로 2018년부터 5년 간 해외한국학 중핵대학 육성사업을 수행한다. 그 일환으로 연구팀은 지난 2월 1일 한국학 교육 진흥 연구소(Korean Office for Research and Education, KORE)를 개소하였다.
